ABOUT US
Second Baptist Church in Cedartown, GA has existed since 1921 to bring glory to God and reach the
Polk County community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, we are a multi-generational
church that seeks to make the Bible central to everything we do as we live in authentic community
with fellow believers.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that the Bible reveals who God is and what His plans are for His creation. As such, we believe salvation for man comes through Jesus alone. We are in agreement with the doctrinal convictions of the Southern Baptist Convention as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. You can read more about that here.
BIBLICAL PREACHING
We believe the Word of God should be the guiding source for faith and practice. We want to stay firmly rooted in preaching what the Bible says, not what we want it to say. It is God's inerrant revelation to man. Most of the sermons at Second are expository. That means we usually preach through books of the Bible, verse by verse.
CHRIST CENTERED
Our desire is to make sure our worship services and activities are centered around Jesus. From beginning to end, we hope our worship will be Christ-exalting. Our many missions activities exist with the same goal in mind. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells us to go make disciples of all nations. That commandment from Jesus is at the center of everything we do.
